From Miami to Bimini by air
In February 2026, American Airlines launched the first scheduled nonstop U.S. commercial service to Bimini, flying from Miami International Airport (MIA) to South Bimini Airport (BIM). That direct connection strengthens Bimini’s appeal for South Florida-based owners and visitors.
From Fort Lauderdale by seaplane
Tropic Ocean Airways offers seaplane access from Fort Lauderdale to North Bimini. The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism describes the flight as approximately 25 minutes, with arrival at the North Bimini Seaplane Base.
From Fort Lauderdale by fast ferry
Baleària Caribbean operates between Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale and Bimini. The operator lists an approximate sailing time of two hours, arriving at Fisherman’s Village/Bimini Bay on North Bimini. Schedules, terminals and pricing change, so always verify before travel.
South Bimini Airport (BIM)
South Bimini Airport is the primary airport gateway and handles domestic and international arrivals. Travelers staying on North Bimini typically continue by ground transfer and local ferry.
North Bimini Seaplane Base
North Bimini also has a seaplane base and official port of entry, allowing some visitors to arrive directly on the busier north island.
North–South Bimini water taxi / local ferry
There is no road bridge joining North and South Bimini. Local ferry or water-taxi service connects the two islands. Service details can change and may be affected by weather, so confirm locally, especially for early flights.
